Welcome to the page for Falmouth Reps. You can find information about each rep role, the meetings that you will attend, and other information which will help you to be as effective as possible in your role as a rep.

On-campus Undergraduate Reps

Course Reps

The main job of a course rep is to collect feedback from your course cohort to represent their views at Student Staff Liaison Groups (SSLGs), as well as in discussions with the SU and University Staff. Course reps listen to the student voice and take actions based on the feedback.

Department rep

The senior academic representative in your department, representing all students studying at undergraduate taught level. Your department rep(s) work closely with the course reps in your department as well as your department staff and SU to achieve positive change for students. They collect feedback from course reps to create agendas for SSLG meetings, which they lead as the meeting chair.

Student Staff Liaison Groups (SSLGs)

SSLGs are the main meetings you will attend as a rep. They give you an opportunity to raise feedback that you have gathered from your course mates directly with your course staff, and to share what is going well, and where there could be improvements.

SSLGs for on-campus undergrad students are chaired by your department rep and take place one to two times a term. Your department admin team minute the meetings, and department reps create the meeting agenda.

Always in attendance of SSLGs: course leaders, department admin, course reps

Sometimes in attendance of SSLGs: other course staff, heads of subject, library staff, technical facilities staff, stores staff and SU staff.

How to submit feedback to SSLGs

If you are an on-campus undergraduate rep, you must send any feedback you wish to be added to your next SSLG’s agenda to the department rep of your department. You can find the contact details for your department rep on the Find My Rep Page.

Department reps must submit their agendas at least 1 week before their SSLG

so that staff can review the agenda and come up with actions in response to your feedback.

Course reps must send feedback to their department reps in a timely manner. Do not leave it to the last minute to submit feedback!
