Welcome is the start of the academic year at university, the opportunity to meet your community, get to know your students' union, and find out more about all of the activities you can get involved in.
The Falmouth and Exeter Students’ Union is a not-for-profit organisation focused on improving the university experience for students at Falmouth University and the University of Exeter in Cornwall. We are here to act in your benefit and represent you.
You are represented by your sabbatical officer team. They are students who are elected into their role to lead the students' union for a year. The Presidents and Vice Presidents make decisions on the future of your union.

SU President Falmouth
Hi, I’m Jadelle (she/her)! I’m from the West Midlands but moved to Cornwall to start my degree in Popular Music in 2020 (I’m basically a local now). I really enjoy spending my free time at the beach or going on costal walks. I also love to go to open mic nights to both sing and watch other musicians.
After being a student at Falmouth for four years, I am extremely passionate about the student experience and aim to improve this throughout my year as President Falmouth. My desire to be a representative and a (very) loud voice for students of minority groups stems from working as an ambassador during my time as a student. Community, collaboration, and employability skills are key to driving successful student projects, therefore, these areas are the forefront of my manifesto.

SU President Exeter
I’m Connie, your President Exeter for 24/25, I’m a spirited person who loves the ocean and you’ll often find me on the beach or in the sea! My background is centred around community organising and collaboration, I strongly believe that meaning can be found within our relationships with others. This belief has made me an empathetic person with a drive to create change in our communities. I find the ocean to be a magical and calming place, it rejuvenates me and allows me to decompress - something that’s necessary in our busy lives! I enjoy spending time surrounded by loved ones, usually sharing a home-cooked meal or laughing in nature; these relationships sustain and nourish me. With a care for our Earth and all inhabitants, I hope to encourage and uplift our diverse community to thrive and generate change.

SU Vice President
Hi all! I'm the new Vice President for 2024/25 and I love an adventure and protecting the health of our planet lies at the core of my motivations.
This year, I am here to represent the student voices of those that believe in a green future. Without the health of the Earth, there is no health of people. Sometimes it feels as though our future is bleak, but that is why we can come together to empower our voices and fight for change.

SU Vice President
Hey all, I’m Fina (they/them) one of your Vice Presidents for 2024/25! I am recent zoology graduate originally from Northampton, Massachusetts. As a queer international student, I am passionate that everyone on campus should feel included, safe, and like they belong. This year I aim to combine my passions for conservation and the natural world with my strong beliefs surrounding inclusion, mental health support, and amplified minority voice. When not in the office you are likely to find me wandering barefoot through gardens, out on the water rowing, or cuddled up with a cup of tea and a crochet project. I am always down for a stroll around campus, or a hot drink so please don’t hesitate to come find me with any issues or just for a chat!

How can I get involved with The SU?
Every student at Falmouth University and the University of Exeter in Cornwall is automatically a member of The SU - you're already involved! You can join a sports club or society, chat with your course rep or volunteer to be a course rep, make a suggestion to improve your uni experience on Make a Change, or simply attend one of our many events to help you connect with people like you. We've got plenty of ideas for things you can and places to visit when you're studying in Cornwall.
Welcome 2024 events
The best way to meet new people and get settled at university is to explore the range of opportunities available to you. At The SU, you are the centre of everything we do, if students are interested in it, so are we!
Budget now, save yourself the stress. Getting your money in line now will benefit you when it comes to planning out the things you want to do this year, whether that looks like travelling over the winter break or comfortably ordering a special celebratory drink when your assignment results come up. You can get free budgeting help from our
Advice team.
Taking care of yourself
New place, new housemates, new course, new people: this is a busy time that can be overwhelming. You don’t have to make friends and feel sparkly the whole time.
You can find lots of helpful platforms and links in our mental health resources but if you need more help, you might want to talk to the student support team.
