A quick update from me on the annual Falmouth fashion show.
In study block one, a number of FTI Reps and Students contacted me saying the show wouldn't be going ahead in 2022. The group expressed how heartbroken they were with this news.
In my years as a student the Fashion show was a big stapple and brought a lot of excitement on to the campus and amongst students. With this, I contacted those relevant in Fashion and Textiles Institute and the University to push for this brilliant event to go ahead.
And with that, I am happy to announce that the Fashion show is returning on May 20th! I can’t wait to see the creations of our students presented on the catwalk, worn by students and seen by students too.
"Our end of degree fashion show has always been an exciting event for us as Fashion Design students to look forward to. It’s a great way of celebrating all of our hard work and seeing everyone’s collections walk down the catwalk would be a big moment for all of us as graduating students.
As a Student Rep I contacted Ben for his advice on our final year fashion show, which had been cancelled by our tutors without our notice. Ben was very proactive in conversing with the relevant staff members to allow us to have an end of year fashion show and we, as third year Fashion Design students, are very grateful for all of the effort he has put in." - Alice Warren, Third Year FTI rep
Oh, and guess what? You can be a part of it too! On Monday the 21st of March between 12pm and 2pm in the Fashion and Textiles Institute building on the Penryn Campus there will be a Drop-in Model casting! They are looking for a diverse group of models so why not drop by!
I hope to see you all there!
