What a start to the academic year!
We’ve had a brilliant time so far representing your views to the Universities and FX Plus, delivering a whole host of events and activities and implementing some of our key manifesto priorities.
From Welcome to the winter break, the best part of leading the students’ union is working with you. Your ideas, resilience, creativity and strength are incredible and we’re so glad that we get to be part of your projects.
Absolute highlights of the term so far are Black History Month, Talk Money Week and, more recently, the People’s Assembly. Opportunities to represent your thoughts and seeing talented, creative students coming together to make change happen inspires us to keep moving our manifesto priorities forward, reminding us that working together is the best way to ensure success.
We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has gotten involved in an event, a sports club, a society, or have made their voice heard – we would not be able to do our jobs without you and your engagement.
We know as we enter the colder months there are lots of worries about the impact of the Cost of Living Crisis, we’re making plans in the SU to help you save money and lobby for national change for students. Please continue to email or message us with your personal experiences of the Cost of Living Crisis, it is helpful for us to be able to share the impact the crisis is having on your student experience and welfare to keep the crisis on the agenda for our partnership meetings.
We’re also looking forward to more campaigns and activities in the New Year, including LGBTQ+ History Month, Race Equality Week and President Elections, of course. Keep your eyes on the SU website for more information coming in January!
Follow us on Instagram and Facebook to keep up with the latest updates of our manifesto priorities.
