Fina Day - Gender Expression Fund VP Fina Day - GEF

Hi Guys, I Fina I use they/them pronouns, and I am one of your vice presidents for 2024/25.

My manifesto in centred around amplifying your voices and creating a safe and enjoyable university experience for underrepresented groups including LGBTQ+, international, and disabled students.

A lot of you might be wondering, "What exactly does Fina do?" Well, let me tell you. I'm in meetings all day, every day working hard to make sure your voice is heard by our universities and FXPlus.

Without you my job wouldn’t exist.

Following on from last year’s VP the SU is continuing our Gender expression fund. The fund is here to help you purchase gender-affirming products like binders, packers, clothing, and beauty products; or to contribute towards transport for a medical or counselling appointment.

Our advice team ensure that this process is smooth and confidential because your wellbeing and comfort are at the core of what we do.

Although there is positive change being made for the LGBTQ+ community around the globe, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows; our rights are at risk, and I understand that you may be feeling overwhelmed or unsafe.

Being a queer non-binary person in the UK has had its challenges, but I am here to be your voice and empower you all!

So please don’t hesitate to reach out to me, weather you want to chat, have a question, or want to access the gender expression fund, I Am, here for you.

The fund is now live, and you can apply through the SU website!

Together we can make a difference and fight for our rights. Let’s keep this conversation going and get our voices heard!
