In this one minute read, find out about how Jake got on, in his recent competition in Abu Dhabi!
Coming to Abu Dhabi was a shock to the system after training in Cornish temperatures.
Having been training hard around medical school though I was feeling fresh and ready for it. Sadly due to some misfortune on the day I ended up finishing 6th in the 20-24 age group, and 33rdoverall. Pre-qualifying me for next years World Championship event.
The Swim was fast and controlled, out of the water in 7th I lead out the 2nd pack and strode out to the bike. A fast bike leg saw me track up to approximately 2nd place before my chain dropped twice losing me several positions in the process of getting off to re-place it.
I then held on with an ok run performance to finish 6th in age group and 33rd overall as mentioned. Not quite the result I was hoping for but a really good race and experience to take through to the next event.
Looking forward to your progress Jake!
