The liberation committee is made up of officers that aim to represent marginalized communities by investigating potential issues and then running campaigns to solve them.
As a chair I oversee the committee's meetings and also represent the committee on the student council. I took on this role because I wanted to work towards making our student community as welcoming as possible and through being part of the student council I can let ensure our voices are heard. I firmly believe that universities should take an active stance towards social injustices and so my goal as a liberation officer is to promote this through our students' union. As students we do have the power to make a change, we just need to use our voices!
Apart from my SU role I am also on the volleyball team, I love climbing, and am a final year University of Exeter, Cornwall undergraduate student studying animal behaviour.
