Happy LGBTQ+ History Month from the SU Pride Society!
As the SU Pride Society, we aim to create a community and an accessible welcoming space for all queer Falmouth and Exeter students. Our committee works together to organise a range of events from our weekly Monday sessions to book clubs to coffee mornings as well as collaborations with other societies, so there’s something for everyone.
LGBTQ+ History Month is an opportunity to reinforce the universities as places of tolerance and sanctuary for all queer people, especially in the face of increasingly hostile attitudes in the UK, particularly towards trans & nonbinary people. Everyone should have the right to express themselves and live freely and honestly, and LGBTQ+ History Month gives us a chance to reflect on the fight for queer rights from decades past, and how we can carry the torch moving forward.
