Postgraduate Research (PGR) Officer (University of Exeter in Cornwall)
Are you passionate about enhancing the Postgraduate Research (PGR) student experience? Do you want to make a real impact on research culture and student wellbeing?
We’re looking for a Postgraduate Research Officer to be the key voice for PGR students at the University of Exeter’s Cornwall campuses. In this role, you’ll work closely with students, The SU, and the University to ensure PGRs are effectively represented and supported. You'll be working closely with the President Exeter via a Students as Change Agents (SACA) project to shape this role, drawing on reflective practices to continuously develop your skills and understanding of what the PGR Academic Representation experience should look like.
What you’ll do:
- Advocate for PGR students, ensuring their voices are heard
- Support and empower PGR reps to drive positive change
- Attend University and Doctoral College meetings, influencing policies
- Promote a strong research culture, academic development, and student wellbeing
- Organise and deliver opportunities to foster engagement and belonging
-Reflect and review the PGR Officer role with The SU and the University of Exeter to help develop PGR Academic Representation in Cornwall

- Policy & Research Culture Improvement: One of your responsibilities is to attend meetings and advocate for changes that improve the PGR student experience. How would you identify key issues affecting PGR students and ensure they are addressed effectively?
