About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Falmouth & Exeter Students’ Union as the next Student Engagement Manager. We are looking for a Student Engagement Manager who is passionate about student belonging, empowering students to create, lead and engage within a range of activities and projects. The Student Engagement Manager will be instrumental in advancing the progress of targeted approaches which aim to develop student communities. Managing a team of student staff this role holder will ensure our student offer is positively engaged with by a wide range of students and will deliver lasting memories.

You will join a unique charity which places people at the heart of all we do; we value and recognise the contributions everyone makes across the union and are driven towards creating a positive and motivating working environment for our whole staff team. You’ll share the values of the SU and a drive to achieve our priorities, working collaboratively to help take us to the next level.

Our membership comprises of students studying with both Falmouth University and the University of Exeter (Cornwall) which creates a unique and special experience of which we love to be a key part of.

  • Falmouth University has a history of more than 100 years of creative thinking and design innovation. Established in 1902 as Falmouth School of Art, they have grown to become a digital innovation hub, delivering impact for lives and economies through the development of new knowledge, solutions, services and products.
  • The University of Exeter is a member of the prestigious Russell Group of research-intensive universities and in the top 150 universities in the world. They combine world-class teaching with world-class research, achieving a Gold rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework Award 2017.

We are a progressive and ambitious organisation committed to developing an inclusive culture where everyone can thrive. We offer a dynamic and supportive environment where you can develop your ideas and your future.

Our team isn’t as representative of our student body as we would like it to be and we’re particularly keen to hear from you if you’re Black, Disabled, LGBTQ+ or have any other marginalised experience. It is important our students see themselves represented in our staff team.

You will be taking up the role as we embrace our new strategic plan, which focusses us upon student priorities. If you feel excited by this opportunity and would like to join our team, we look forward to hearing from you.
