About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to run our Communications Team, focusing on member engagement and stakeholder management, and to be the lead organisational expert on communications.
You will take a lead role in pulling together campaigns and events, ensuring work is prioritised in line with organisational priorities, and will be the lead contact regarding the media.
You will be employed directly by The SU. We are a membership-led charity; run by students, for students. We represent students from two different universities: Falmouth University and the University of Exeter.
- Falmouth University has a history of more than 100 years of creative thinking and design innovation. Established in 1902 as Falmouth School of Art, they have grown to become a digital innovation hub, delivering impact for lives and economies through the development of new knowledge, solutions, services and products.
- The University of Exeter is a member of the prestigious Russell Group of research-intensive universities and in the top 150 universities in the world. They combine world-class teaching with world-class research, achieving a Gold rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework Award 2017.
The ideal candidate for this role would be experienced in one or more strands of communications, public relations and marketing, and able to manage all aspects of the team’s work. You will need to be confident engaging multiple stakeholders including students, staff, Trustees, Falmouth University and the University of Exeter, external stakeholders, and the local community. You will also need to be able to work out how best to use our research and insight to develop different engagement strategies.
