FAQs
How can I promote my project/event?
We encourage students to promote the projects using their own platforms. We also encourage students to design their own promotional materials, such as posters or social media assets.
The Students’ Union will promote the projects/events on the website and include them in weekly What’s On post on social media pages
Can my event be ticketed?
We encourage students to promote the projects using their own platforms. We also encourage students to design their own promotional materials, such as posters or social media assets. The Students’ Union will promote the projects/events on the website and include them in weekly What’s On post on social media pages.
All ticketed events must use the ticketing system on The SU website, a member of The SU team can support you to set this up. This is so we can manage event capacity in line with risk assessments. Tickets can be free or paid. You may choose to offer paid tickets to cover additional costs of the event, should your project exceed the fund limit of £300.
What additional support is available?
In addition to funding, The SU will offer guidance with filling out any relevant project documentation, such as risk assessments and budgets. Furthermore, if you need additional support on the day, the Student Crew may be able to assist you.
How will I receive the money?
We do not transfer the money directly to applicants’ account. Instead, the funding will cover your projects costs directly:
Direct payment – the Students’ Union will directly pay for any expenses, i.e. we will order your requested supplies or pay invoices for venue hire.
Please note that all expenses must be agreed before any purchases take place.
Next steps
The SU will be in touch following your submission. If you have not already had a meeting by this point, one will be arranged. You will create a plan and risk assessment for your project.
Keep us in the loop and we will do the same for you! Please let us know if your project or situation changes with plenty of time so we can figure out alternative options together.
