Thursday 19 September 2024
Date
10am - 1pm
Time
Meet up outside the revolving doors of the Exchange Building.
Location
Walk to the remains of the historically significant Glasney College. Founded on the 26th March 1265, this institution was vital to the preservation of the Cornish language and culture throughout the medieval era. It is believed to be the place where the plays Bewnans Ke (Life of Ke) and Bewnans Meriasek (Life of Meriadoc) were written. You will also have the opportunity of visiting the fantastic Penryn Museum to learn more about this very historic Cornish town, and of course the opportunity to buy a Cornish pasty after the event. Tag along for a very short walk to experience a little of Cornish history, language and folklore (and cuisine if you like) and, if you are new to the university, to get to know your new home town better! No Cornish language skills necessary.
