About the event

Join MarineWatch and MARINElife at their training weekend to learn how to observe and identify whales, dolphins, and seabirds together with data recording methods used for scientific research.

Learn how to identify what can be seen from land and at sea around the UK and European seas. Become a Citizen Scientist, we’ll show you how to report your sightings for conservation or consider becoming a MARINElife volunteer ship-based surveyor in your spare time!  This is a certified course and you will receive a completion certificate after the event.  Great for your CV!

This will be a 2 day event.  The Saturday will involve a comprehensive classroom session delivered by MARINElife learning about ID techniques, cetacean behaviour and identification tips.  The Sunday will involve a guided shorewatch from Pendennis Point to test your ID skills and hopefully see some whales, dolphins or seabirds!

Room for classroom session TBC, this will be updated.
