About the event

Join the Exeter Medical School to celebrate Cornish Heritage on St Piran’s Day with hot drinks and Cornish cake. We love to hear your stories on what brought you to Cornwall and how you stay connected to your culture and heritage. We’ll be displaying our giant world map and will be happy to chat about our new Cultural Heritage project.

What is the key accessibility information?

  • Loud noise
  • Crowds
  • The Atrium is accessible with disabled parking near the entrance. Doors into the building are automatic.
  • Disabled toilet on the ground floor close to the Atrium
  • The Common Room is available as a quieter space located off from the main atrium. There is a kitchen with a hot water tap and microwave available.
  • If you have a problem, head to University of Exeter Reception on the 2nd Floor.

 Who is running the event?

This event is being run by Hannah Partington and Grace Fisher from The Exeter Medical School.

If you need a buddy to support you with arriving at the event, email UEMS-Cornwall@exeter.ac.uk and we will work out what we can arrange to help. This might be someone meeting you before the event start time or simply talking you through more details of what to expect. We want to help you access our events so let us know what you need.

Where is the event taking place?

The event is taking place in the Atrium at the Knowledge Spa located at the Royal Cornwall Hospital. Parking on site is limited and expensive. We recommend parking at Langarth Park & Ride and getting the PR1 Bus to Treliske.

What should I expect?

At this event will be hosted in an open public space so it might be loud with lots of people moving around.

There will be a member of University of Exeter staff present at the stall to support the event and answer your questions. There will be photography and videography at this event that will be used for University marketing, please speak to the member of staff if you don’t want your photo taken.

If you need a quiet space to get away from the event, the nearest space would be Common Room on the ground floor of the Knowledge Spa.
