About the event
Ever wanted to learn to play the Djembe drum? Now is your opportunity to discover the wonderful world of West African drumming. The session is hosted by James Carr who has over 25 years experience playing drums and percussion as well as more than 20 years teaching experience. Develop technique and together we will create an almighty, uplifting sound. In the session you will learn to play an authentic West African rhythm complete with polyrhythmic djembe patterns, dun dun bass drums and an array of sparkly percussion.
What is the key accessibility information?
The djembe drums, dun duns, and other percussion can be loud, but disposable earplugs will be available. Everyone will be playing together in a relaxed, communal environment, and no one will be put on the spot to perform. If you have any problems at the event, please talk to James the facilitator or your SU team.
