About the event
“It’s 1910, and something sinister is taking place onboard the maiden voyage of the HMS Hope.” Join Billy Ocean, your intrepid captain as you work together over a three-course meal to discover a series of clues and solve the mystery of the HMS Hope tragedy.
Prior to the event each of you will be assigned 1 of 12 playable characters. It is important that you read your character sheet beforehand for the most authentic experience. You are also encouraged to dress up and act as your assigned character with awards going to best dressed, best actor and best detective.
The menu will be completely vegan and gluten free. Consisting of a nacho starter, homemade tomato soup main and Chocolate Macaroon dessert
What is the key accessibility information?
Loud noise should be minimal as the event is limited to 14 including staff. However students may chat loudly, the soup blenders are quite loud and external noises may interfere. There are steps and ramp access into and out of the venue. There is also a disabled toilet outside the venue. The nearest quite spaces will be the Library Retreat Room and SU sofas. If you have a problem, you should alert the SU Crew members present (identifiable by their lanyards). SU Crew can help you and seek action as appropriate using the safe zone app.

Where is the event taking place?
The event is taking place in the Students Union on Penryn Campus. This is around the center of the campus and is best accessed by taking the steps up from the train station, walking towards the lodge, walking up the road alongside the Stannary and straight on to the Students Union heading up the stairs and entering through the sliding doors and. What should I expect?
At this event, there will be bright lights and lots of people moving around. We have plans in place for if the space becomes too busy.
There will be a member of staff present to support the event and answer your questions. There will be photography and videography at this event that will be used for SU marketing, please speak to the member of staff if you don’t want your photo taken.
This event is only for students of Falmouth University and the University of Exeter Cornwall Campus.
If you need a quiet space to get away from the event, the nearest space would be the Students’ Union, Multifaith Chaplaincy, Library Retreat Room.
