Trans+ Students Collective - Meet the Falmouth Trans Collective

About the event

Come along to our Trans+ Students Collective meeting. This is a chance to meet other trans+ students, discuss student-based issues you’ve been having, and find extra support. There will be snacks!  

What is the key accessibility information?

Accessibility is through the lift in the library walkway and a medium walk outside the building into the Exchange through automatic doors.  

Getting to the location might include navigating some large crowds of students moving in between lessons, but the room will be quiet and relatively roomy, so not too small.  

There are gender-neutral toilets in the Exchange, which also provide for disabled access, the door to them is not automatic.  

If you have a problem, please speak to Bethan or either Andi or Leo from Falmouth Trans Collective.  

Who is running the event?

This event is being run in collaboration with Falmouth Trans Collective, which is run by Andi and Leo. Bethan from The SU will also be helping to run the event.

If you need a buddy to support you with arriving at the event, please email The SU on info@thesu.org.uk and we will work out what we can arrange to help. This might be someone meeting you before the event start time or simply talking you through more details of what to expect. We want to help you access our events so let us know what you need. 

Where is the event taking place?

The event is taking place at Exchange Courtyard 6 at Penryn Campus. This is in the centre of the campus and is best accessed by taking the steps up from the train station, walking towards the lodge and then following the signs to the Exchange or the library, in which you can find a cut-through.

What should I expect?

At this event, there will be bright lights and lots of people moving around. We have plans in place for if the space becomes too busy. 

There will be a member of staff present to support the event and answer your questions.  

This event is only for students of Falmouth University and the University of Exeter Cornwall Campus. 

If you need a quiet space to get away from the event, the nearest place is the Students’ Union or Library Retreat Room.
