Lecture on the embodied knowledge of West African dance and their diasporic descendants in North & South America and the Caribbean. Overview of an array of physical, musical, and mathematical intelligence passed down through generations, as a testimony of cultural knowledge resilence often unrecognised outside of global communities of African cultural dance practitioners.

- There may be a number of people at this event, there are plans in place should there be big crowds but we are not expecting an excessibe number of people.
- You can access the room without steps from the top of the Exchange building on Penryn Campus.
- There is a disabled toilet in the Exchange building, you have to go down one floor in the nearby lift.
- You are welcome to come and go during this event. Please let the event speaker know that you might need to step out in the middle of the lecture.

This event is being run by Madeline Young-Toure, a PhD student at the University of Exeter.

Where is the event taking place?
The event is taking place at Exchange Yellow at Penryn Campus. This is in the Exchange Building and is best accessed at the top of the Exchange building, near the Exchange Courtyard rooms.
What should I expect?
At this event, there will be a presentation and a speaker talking about their chosen topic.
There may be photography and videography at this event that will be used for SU marketing, please speak to the event lead if you don’t want your photo taken.
