About the event

Join us on another Explore Cornwall Day Trip, this time to Bodmin Jail! Spanning from the 1700s to the 1900s, Bodmin Jail brings social history, crime, and punishment to life like nowhere else in Cornwall! We'll visit the restored jail and come face to face with the stories of the people once imprisoned there and the societies they lived in. From learning about changing views of justice to the real-life tails of Victorian and Georgian pirsoners, this is an experience you won't want to miss!

Who is running the event?

This event is being run by Grace and Thomas from The SU. Our Meet the Team page includes information about every member of The SU team.

Where is the event taking place?

The event is taking place at Bodmin Jail, Berrycoombe Road, Bodmin, Cornwall, PL31 2NR. We'll be travelling by coach to this event. The coach will be departing Falmouth Moor at 9:30am, Penryn Campus at 9:45am, and Truro Fairmantle Street Coach Park at 10:15am. Please arrive a few minutes before this and let us know when buying a ticket where you'll be getting on. We'll return via Truro, Penryn Campus, and Falmouth Moor and will be back roughly at 4pm, though this will depend on traffic.

What should I expect?

At this event, there may be bright lights or poorly lit areas and there may be loud noises. At times, the space will feel enclosed. We have plans in place for if the space becomes too busy and a member of staff will be able to take you out of the situation at any time. 

There will be a member of staff present to support the event and answer your questions. There will be photography and videography at this event that will be used for SU marketing, please speak to the member of staff if you don’t want your photo taken.

This event is only for students of Falmouth University and the University of Exeter Cornwall Campus.
