MarineWatch

MarineWatch is a marine animal interest group which aims to celebrate and protect our amazing local marine wildlife!

MarineWatch is a society which aims to celebrate and protect our local and amazing marine wildlife.

We aim to provide our members with oppurtunities to learn about, appreciate and survey the marine world. Our marine animal observation training weekends with the MARINElife charity are a great example of this. Students can test out the skills they learn on these weekends on regular, affordable boat trips we run with AK Wildlife cruises around the Falmouth Bay area. All of the sightings from these trips are submitted to the MARINElife data base.

Don't worry If boats aren't your thing, we also run regular rockpool and shore watch sessions to give our members a chance to practice their Id skills and contribute to local citizen science projects. Our other landbased activities include marine themed talks, workshops, craft sessions and socials - so there is plenty to get involved in!  We hold seaglass crafting sessions, talks from local nature groups, seagrass snorkels and so much more!

Anyone with an interest in the world beneath the waves is welcome here - join our whatsapp group to get involved, or check out our social media pages to find out more!
