An award winning society* for horse riding at any level in the beautiful countryside of Cornwall. We cater for all riders, from complete beginner to advanced. We offer regular lessons and hacks for all abilities, as well as the occasional beach ride allowing you to experience the best of Cornwall. This society is a fantastic opportunity to learn a new skill, or just enjoy riding in a friendly environment.

NOTE: We meet for our rides 1 hour before the ride start time at the Penryn Campus bus stops. We will wait for you for a maximum of 15 minutes if you are late! We have a strict 48 hour ticket and event refund policy. We will refund riders booking onto levels higher than their ability for safety reasons. Some rides require an assessment by the stables - their word on ability is final. Please see below for ability level definitions.

ABILITY LEVELS:
BEGINNER: Someone who has never ridden before or has ridden very little, or not ridden for a long time. Learning to control a horse in walk and trot.
NOVICE: Riders who are confident controlling a horse in walk and trot, are able to do both rising and sitting trot and can trot a 20m circle. Riders who are learning to canter or building confidence in canter.
INTERMEDIATE: Riders who are confident independently controlling a horse in walk, trot and canter. Confidence in canter is essential. Must be able to canter independently, ask for canter on your own and keep the horse in canter. Able to ride 20m circles in both walk and trot.
LEARN TO JUMP: Riders at the intermediate level who are very confident in canter, able to ride without stirrups and are ready to progress to jumping. It is absolutely essential that you can ride a 20m circle in canter.
ADVANCED: Riders who are very confident in walk, trot and canter, and riding without stirrups. Riders who are able to jump 40cm+ confidently.
The riding school will advise on when you are ready to move up a level, we will check with them if we are unsure.
