(BCA Cheerleading Competition 2023/24)

We are a dynamic cheerleading team featuring a Level 1 Co-ed Tumbling Team, two Level 2 Stunt Group Teams, and for the first time on campus, a Recreational Team. Our Recreational Team is open to everyone, with no try-outs required, as we believe in making cheerleading accessible to all, regardless of experience or ability.

For those interested in joining our competitive teams, try-outs are required. We understand that try-outs can be intimidating, but Fusion's sessions are conducted with the same welcoming, supportive, and safe environment that defines all our practices. Our certified coaches are dedicated to providing you with the space and encouragement to perform at your best, regardless of your experience. If you’re interested in joining our Fusion Competitive Team but are feeling anxious about the try-outs, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our Wellbeing Officer, Amelia. She’s here to support you!

As a proud sports society, we've been honoured with the Sports Club of the Year award for two consecutive years:

  • 2020-2021
  • 2021-2022

COMPETITIONS

Fusion Cheerleading, despite being a small cheer team, has made significant strides since first competing in 2019. The team won 3rd   place at Future Cheer in its debut year! In 2020, the team placed 4th  at BCA University Nationals and 2nd at Future Cheer. By the 2022 season, we entered our first two Level 2 routines at BCA, with our main routine placing 6th! At Future Cheer in Manchester, the team also earned 5th place. The 2023 season saw our most impressive results yet! At Legacy Cheer and Dance in Birmingham, our main routine placed 3rd, while our Co-ed Level 2 group, Fusion Phoenix, took 2nd place. At Apex Nationals in Cardiff, we achieved our first-ever 1st place finish for our main routine, with our All-Girl Level 2 group, Fusion Vipers, securing 2nd place!

In our most recent 2024 season, we competed at BCA in Telford with four different teams performing—a first for Fusion Cheer. Our Level 1 Co-ed team placed 4th, and our All-Girls team finished 10th. However, we were especially proud of our Level 2 groups, with one taking 5th place and the other earning 1st!

We've created unforgettable memories at competitions and can’t wait to share those experiences with both new members and returning athletes. If you want to see what competition weekends are like, check out the link below!

SOCIALS

Socials at Fusion Cheer are a fantastic way to bond as a team. We place a strong emphasis on creating a friendly and welcoming environment both inside and outside of training. Throughout the year, we host a variety of socials, including the Cheer Ball, joint sports socials, and even beach cheer sessions! There’s something for everyone at Fusion Cheer, whether you’re a big drinker or prefer a more relaxed vibe. Socials also offer the chance to mingle with other societies, with events like pub quizzes, a Winter Ball, and plenty of themed nights to look forward to!

TRAINING

Our training sessions are designed to accommodate different levels of commitment and experience. Our Competitive team practices for 5 hours a week, with mandatory attendance as we prepare for the highlight of our year: competition season! While our sessions are challenging and action-packed, they are equally fun—especially if you bring the right attitude and motivation.

For more experienced cheerleaders, or those looking to push themselves further, we also offer Level 2 stunt groups that compete in competitions. These require seperate try-outs, and the training schedule will be provided later in the year. Like the competitive team, attendance for these sessions is mandatory.

If you’re looking for a less intense commitment, our Recreational team might be a better fit. With just 2 hours of training per week, you'll still learn exciting cheer stunts, dances, and tumbles, all taught by our certified coaches. This is perfect for anyone who wants to experience cheer without the full commitment of competition.
